Tapping Points
These are the basic tapping points. To tap, you start at the top of the head and work your way down, ending with the underarm point which is about 4 inches below the armpit.
It is generally recommended that you use the index and middle finger tips on the face, the flat of the hand (slap) underarm and top of head, and the fist on the collarbone.
There are other additional tapping points which can be used - see Gary’s manual.
In addition, the ‘karate chop’ point is important for the setup statement. This is the fleshy part on the side of your hand that you would use for a karate chop.
The setup statement
For beginners, this follows a set pattern, and always looks like this -
“Even though I (have this problem), I deeply love and accept myself.” You fill in the part in brackets, so for example if you had a sharp pain in your right knee, you would say “Even though I have this sharp pain in my right knee, I deeply love and accept myself.”
While tapping, you need to say what it is that you are seeking to get rid of, so using the above example, at each tapping point you would say “this sharp pain in my right knee”.
For more instructions, see Putting It All Together.
