WEIGHT CONTROL AND CRAVINGS

Weight control – argh!  A subject close to my heart (and stomach)!

Losing weight with EFT depends upon finding the underlying problem. This can be something that we were told when we were young, e.g. “Clean up your plate” or a reaction to stress – reaching for the biscuit tin after an argument, or safety issues – if I’m fat I won’t be bothered by unwanted sexual attention.  Or some other unresolved issue.  Safety seems to be high on the list of fears of overweight people.

Cravings, however, can be eased or eliminated by using EFT.  In my personal experience, I have found that it is vital to be specific.  So tapping on ‘sweet things’ is not very effective.  But being specific, e.g. ‘the baker’s wonderful flapjacks’ works well.  Just by knocking down all the little specific items of food you crave but are bad for you can obviously help your weight loss.  (Does anybody crave ‘healthy’ foods?)

Exercise is another important aspect in weight loss as it uses calories but also builds muscle.  Muscle needs more calories than fat to support it and also shapes your body.  Reluctance to exercise can also respond to tapping.

So here are some phrases I have found to be helpful.

Weight loss

‘Even though my mother told me to clean my plate, that was then and this is now and as an adult I choose to ignore this command and I deeply love and accept myself.’

Cravings

‘Even though I love and want the baker’s wonderful flapjacks, I love my body more and flapjacks are bad for my body, and I love and honour my body for all I have done to it.’

Exercise

‘Even though I hate exercise, getting sweaty and out of breath, I know my body will benefit from it and I love my body.’

EFT can be used alongside any weight loss programme, or on its own.  I have managed to lose half a stone over the last four months (Oct 2009) without depriving myself of anything I want, but tapping on all the sweet things I craved.

Sometime in the near future, I hope to run a six week course on weight loss with EFT and if you are interested, please email me.
